Growth will also feel like a breaking point. Remember that.
-Jaxon Feeley
For most of my life I felt stuck, always wanting to be more of something or somewhere else and the guilt, shame and grief of not being there really took a toll. I was trying to race through life, always unhappy with the journey but never at the destination.
Over the years I’ve had experience with therapies such as psychotherapy, counselling, breath-work and hypnotherapy where a lot of groundwork was done to uncover my limiting beliefs, triggers and unhelpful behaviours. But I still felt stuck. By chance I came across a coach and for me this is when I started to feel a shift as I began to really challenge the layers of thoughts and beliefs holding me back and gain a new perspective on them. I finally saw myself moving forward - tiny little steps to begin with (and sometimes backwards!) but little by little, they led me here.
I’ve always been curious about the mind and about the stories people carry with them. These stories tell us who we are, where we’ve been and what we know. There is wisdom in all our stories. While on maternity leave, I decided to finish a Uni degree I barely started when I was 18, but this time majoring in Psychology instead of Law. It confirmed for me that this is the space I want to work in and deepened my understanding of human behaviour, thought processes and emotions. For now, it’s nice to be finished but I can see myself studying further in the future.
Outside of coaching, I'm a friend, a wife and mum. A lover of a good book or binge-worthy tv, deep conversations and living slower and more minimally. Always growing.
What I love about coaching?
I love big aha moments but also love the little moments when you realise you no longer hold on to something in the way you used to, you move differently, feel differently, you hear your own voice. I love seeing that in others, seeing them arrive at their own place of realisation, comfort, peace, acceptance – whatever it is they are needing.
How I define success in coaching for myself and those I coach?
Success in coaching for myself is surrendering to the process – letting go of expectations or needs for a session to go a certain way. Success for those I coach is creating a space where they can discover the answers they need to move forward.
Thank you for visiting and I hope to connect with you soon.
